Why You Should Seriously Consider the 2013 Ford Fusion for Your Next Car

The outgoing model of the Ford Fusion had a lot going for it: spacious, dependable, comfortable, and fuel efficient. The 2013 Ford Fusion is highly anticipated because it is an all new model. There was nothing wrong with the outgoing Ford Fusion, but a lot of consumers wanted a sleeker silhouette to go with the highly spacious and comfy cabin.

Enter the 2013 Ford Fusion, a car that is not only sexier and more athletic than the 2012 Ford Fusion but one that is equipped with all the latest technology that you could ever want in an affordable midsize family car.

Design

British car designer Chris Hamilton is the design chief behind the all new Ford Fusion and Ford Mondeo. He says that: “We put a lot of emphasis, to create something that we think will be different in the marketplace..we’ll be somewhat unexpected in North America, from Ford. We wanted to create a beautiful-looking car.”

And so they did. The 2013 Ford Fusion has sleek, stylish, and modern profile that is distinctive, sporty and elegant profile. The old Fusion was somewhat similar in design to the Toyota Camry and the Honda Accord: conservative, safe, and family-friendly. But not the new Ford Fusion. The laser-cut projector headlamps and the inverted trapezoid grill gives the car a more modern and angular look compared to other family sedans. You also get a sleek and sexy silhouette towards the rear of the car, anchored by the gently-sloping roof line with attractive LED tail lamps.

Interior

The interior blends plush materials, soft touch plastics, and comfortable seats to provide a comfortable and modestly luxurious driving experience. The elongated wheelbase pays huge dividends when it comes to overall exterior space, and the sporty roof line does not impede vehicle ingress and egress at all. The new Ford Fusion also has available ambient lighting with seven available colors so you can change the color depending on your mood.

Performance

The base engine of the 2013 Ford Fusion is the Duratec 2.5-liter 4-cylinder with 170hp. You can also choose between tow Ecotec turbocharged engines: a 1.6-liter with 179hp and EPA average of 37mpg/highway, and a 2.0-liter with 237hp.

The 2013 Ford Fusion is also available as a hybrid and Energi plug-in hybrid model, perfect for eco-conscious individuals who won’t sacrifice style and function in a family car.

Technology

The new Ford Fusion is at the forefront of new automotive technology. It has active grill shutters that automatically opens or closes depending on the driving situation. This feature reduces aerodynamic drag for better fuel economy. The car is also equipped with adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection, parking assist, and a lane-keeping assist system that alerts the driver when the car is veering to the next lane.

If you happen to be in the market for a new midsize sedan, and you are seriously thinking about Hyundai Sonata or the new Kia Optima then the 2013 Ford Fusion is definitely worth a look.
