Many drivers overlook luxury vehicles, assuming they’re too expensive. But that’s not always the case. Today, luxury manufacturers sell affordable models. However, even powerful, sporty models are affordable now. Due to high residual values and leasing’s cost advantage relative to other financing options, luxury cars are within reach of a huge segment of the population.

Here are some examples of affordable luxury models that currently go for attractive rates, for anyone who is curious. Keep in mind, you may not have to put any money down. The rate will rise a bit if you dont submit a down payment, but not too much. Everything’s flexible when you lease.

Acura ILX: $219 per month for 36 months with $2,499 down

To many, this car doesn’t compete with similarly sized luxury sedans. It’s not very powerful, in its base trim form. It’s not particularly great (or “luxurious”) looking. In fact, it could be confused with a Honda Civic. However, it is an Acura. We know it’s a good car just because of that. It also has more leg room than many competing models and is one of the most affordable luxury brand models on the market. Some non-luxury competing models won’t go for this low.

Audi A3: $289 per month for 36 months with $2,079 down

This is the second most affordable Luxury vehicle we could find. Like the ILX, it isn’t overly sporty or flashy-looking. It does have great interior materials and design, though. It’s also sort of fast, considering its engine size (170hp), and handles well. Audi is a luxury brand that isn’t controlled by a traditionally non-luxury manufacturer. As you would expect, Audi does luxury well. Who really uses the 7.3 liter engine in their Mercedes SL anyway?

Lexus IS: $339 per month for 36 months with $1,739 down

The IS is the most affordable luxury car that has more punch than a standard sedan. The least powerful trim has 241 horsepower and still gets 22 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. However, it’s top speed is only around 150 mph. Yet, for most of us it doesn’t matter. It’s fun and comfortable to drive and it’s made by Toyota, the most reliable brand in the world. Oh yea, and it looks really good.

BMW i3: $319 per month for 36 months with $3,000 down

We don’t recommend putting $3,000 down to lease. If your dealer will let you put $2,000 down instead, you’re looking at around $360 per month. You’ll be saving lots of gas money and if your electricity is solar, your electricity bills will be low as well. Under the right circumstances, this could be the most affordable luxury car there is. You just have to be the kind of person that doesn’t need “ggrrrrr” power luxury. This is the car for you if you want grrrrr…eeeeen luxury. Yes, green luxury. It’s a thing.

Cadillac ATS: $299 per month for 24 months with $3,389 down

Again, we don’t recommend putting this much money down. Work with your dealer to reduce your down payment. This car will still be one of the most affordable luxury models after you do. It may not be imported but it does have sport capability and high quality interior materials. The ATS is comparable, in many ways, to the Mercedes-Benz CLA Class. Both have powerful engines and the hardware needed to show off on the track a little bit. They also both come with lots of useful technology and with pretty interiors. The Cadillac has a bit more power (.5L more) in it’s base model and is also a bit cheaper to lease. What do you think? Would you choose it?
