The 2012 Subaru Forester compact crossover SUV is available in 6 trim levels, 2.5XT Touring, 2.5X, 2.5X Limited, 2.5X Premium, 2.5XT Premium and 2.5X Touring. Like all Subaru’s, the Forester is outfitted standard with AWD. The 2.5X models receive a 2.5 liter horizontally opposed 4-cylinder engine rated at 170hp/174lb-ft of torque, while the XT trims are equipped with a turbocharged version producing 224hp/226lb-ft. Even base 2.5X models are well equipped with standard features that include full power accessories, A/C, keyless entry and trip computer. Upper trims also offer a full range of luxury and convenience features.

The Forester also has the most max towing capabilities at 2400lbs compared to the Tucson’s 2000lbs and the RAV4 back at 1500lbs. The Forester also has the larger gas tank at 16.9 gallons, compared to the Tucson’s 15.3 gallon tank and the RAV4 at 15.9 gallons.
