2. You should also change the air filter or the air cleaner of the engine. Remember that the engine needs to suck in huge amounts of air in order to create a more effective burn. If the air filter is dirty, the engine will have a hard time absorbing the right amount of air, making less fuel efficient. A clogged or dirty air filter will also decrease the life of the engine oil.
